The Strumbellas

I Just Had A Baby

by The Strumbellas
The Strumbellas

Biografía:

The Strumbellas is a Canadian rock band formed in 2008 in Lindsay, Ontario, and based in Toronto. Their music has been described as alternative country, indie rock, and 'gothic folk'.

When a crowd is singing along with the last chorus after hearing the song for the first time, and Twitter lights up with those same lyrics in the days following a performance, you know it's a song that connects. With poignant yet sing-along-able lyrics and undeniable rock noir musical undertones

Chords repeat themselves and are:
G Em C G

(VERSE 1)
G Em
Well I just had a baby and it hurt like hell
C G
Now all I have left is my ambition
G Em
And I heard that we were fighting so I grabbed my gun
C G
And shot myself square in the toe

(CHORUS)
G Em
Oh and ladadada dadadadada
C G
Well I have cried to bigger men than you
G Em
Oh and ladadada dadadadada
C G
Well I have lied to better friends than you

(VERSE 2)
G Em
Oh I was just a baby, my mother said son
C G
Put on these old slacks and be a man
G Em
Oh and the irony I guess, when I put on her favourite dress
C G
I could see myself beyond her perfect man, and then we

(CHORUS)

(GUITAR SOLO)

G Em
Oh when I was just a baby, my mother said son
C G
There's no time in this world to love all man
G Em
Hell so I took a bus out east and wore a cold heart on my sleeve
C G
And every chance I got I turned and ran, ran, ran

(CHORUS)

C G
Oh well I have lied to better friends than you
C G Em
Oh well I have lied to better friends than you, oh no

C G
Well I have lied to better friends than you
C G Em
I have lied to better friends than you, oh no
