by The Mars Volta
The Mars Volta

Notes - READ THIS FIRST, it's important for the song to sound good!:

.First off, this is NOT a 'chord song'. So you'll need to adapt it by finding a rythm
pattern you're comfortable with. I suggest something longue-ish (like, Down Up muted Up
for each beat of a chord. Most chords measure one beat but you can adapt this to
whatever feels more comfortable for you)
.IMPORTANT: hammer ons and pull offs and chord variations. You can do this a lot in this
song, especially during the Am and Em. When I put a second chord in ()s, like
Am(C6add9), that means you play the Am and hammer on or pull off to form that other
chord. In that case, it means you'll lift your fingers off the 3rd and 4th strings to form
the C6add9
chord. The ones I suggest are just that: suggestions. You can make up your own, or just
play the standard Am, Em, G, Am, Dm, etc... it'll still sound good, but it'll be better
if you mix it up a bit.
All chords are obviously relative to capo. Same for the chord charts down below
