Biografía:
The Chantels fue un grupo estadounidense de doo wop formado en Nueva York y considerado como el primer grupo femenino auténtico. Sus miembros pertenecían al coro vocal del instituto St.Anthony of Padua's Elementary School en el Bronx y alcanzaron la fama luego de su primera audiencia con Richard Barret en 1956, el vocalista principal del grupo The Valentines. Después de esta primera sesión de prueba y de dos meses de ensayos, tuvieron su debut con la discográfica End Records publicando el tema He's Gone
