Biografía:
The Associates era un grupo escocés marcado por la exuberante voz y presencia de su cantante Billy Mckenzie, con un registro vocal exageradamente afectado que o fascinaba o repelía, deudor de gente como Sparks, o Scott Walker,, aunque a veces se pasaba de afectación y de artificios vocales. En los 90 su huella se ha notado en cantantes como Brett Anderson o Jarvis Cocker .
Como tantos otros grupos de principios de los 80 empezaron con música experimental y vanguardista y luego se fueron haciendo más comerciales.
