Stonewall Jackson

Biografía:

Stone wall Jackson, born in Tabor City, North Carolina November 6, 1932, is an American country singer and musician who achieved his greatest fame during country's golden honky tonk era in the late 1950s and early 1960s. He was named after the famous general, Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson, who was an ancestor. His most popular song was "Waterloo" in 1959. G C G
One day the train was passin' I caught it comin' by
G D7
To look this old world over under God's blue sky
G C G
My darlin' stood there weepin' as I was lookin' back
G D7 G
I kiss my baby cryin' in the smoke along the track

G C G
Goodbye so long until I come back home you'll be my dream
G D7
Goodbye so long there's lots of places that I've never seen
G C G
I'll always be a drifter but I'll be driftin' back
D7 G
To where I left cryin' in the smoke along the track

G C G
I like to keep goin' it helps me when I'm blue
G D7
I get the urge to travel that's all I want to do
G C G
I know I just can't settle down because I like to roam
G D7 G
And when I hear that whistle blow I've gotta move along

G C G
Goodbye so long there' s something down the track keeps callin' me
G D7
Goodbye so long I guess that's just the way I'll always be
G C G
So when I get that feelin' don't try to hold me back
G D7 G
I'd only leave you cryin' in the smoke along the track

G C G
I know my baby loves me I love my baby too
G D7
But she don't understand me when I'm feeling' blue
G C G
And when I hear that whistle blow I hurry home and pack
G D7 G
And leave my baby cryin' in the smoke along the track

G C G
Goodbye so long I hate to leave you but I got to go
G D7
Goodbye so long it's coming' I just heard that whistle blow
G C G
It'll be here in a minute you'll wave and I'll look back
G D7 G
I'm gonna leave you cryin' in the smoke along the track
