Sizzla Kalonji es el nombre artístico de Miguel Orlando Collins. Nació el 17 de abril de 1977 en Saint Mary, Jamaica, y se crió en August Town. Es inusualmente prolífico, incluso para los estándares Jamaicanos.
Sizzla pertenece a la secta rastafario "Bobo Ashanti", conocida por su ortodoxia al rechazar los valores asociados con la cultura y el colonianismo. Las canciones de Sizzla hablan de la pobreza y desesperación que impregna la juventud jamaicana, de brutalidad policial y de opresión política y religiosa.
