Biografía:
Era un grupo pionero importante del Hip-Hop, fundado por Joseph "DJ Run" Simmons, Darryl “D.M.C.” McDaniels, y Jason "Jam-Master Jay" Mizell. El grupo tuvo un impacto enorme en el desarrollo del hip hop los años 80 y se acredita romper con el hip hop en la música diaria; crecieron en la vecindad de Hollis en la ciudad de New York, USA.
"Run" Simmons es el hermano de la leyenda del hip hop Russell "Rush" Simmons, y entro en la escena del hip hop por el primer gran acto de su hermano, el autor del exitoso "The Breaks" Kurtis Blow.
