Biografía:
Roy Ayers (Los Ángeles, 10 de septiembre de 1940), vibrafonista estadounidense de jazz, R&B y acid jazz. La música de Ayers tiene sus raíces estilísticas en el hard bop.
Nacido en una familia musical (su padre tocaba el trombón y su madre le enseñó piano), Lionel Hampton le regaló a los cinco años un set de palos de vibráfono que empezaría a usar a los 17 años. Se sumergió en la escena del West Coast jazz al llegar a la veintena, grabando con Curtis Amy (1962)
