Mat combina los sonidos atípicos de el funky con rock, y el acustico de artistas como Jack Johnson, sus influencias, vienen desde Lilly Allen, hasta Johnatan Rice, ha hecho múltiples apariciones en series como One Tree Hill, The OC, y recientemente en Grey's Anatomy, con el tema Breathe In Breathe Out.
