Nadia Ali nació en Libia en 1980, hija de Pakistaníes. Su familia se mudó a Queens, New York City, cuando aún ella era muy niña donde sigue viviendo actualmente.
Nadia ha dicho en entrevistas que su música mas influyente incluye a Stevie Nicks, Sade, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, U2, Madonna, Led Zeppelin, Carole King, Carly Simon y The Beatles
