Molly Hatchet

Fall Of The Peacemakers

by Molly Hatchet
Molly Hatchet

A king without a sword, a land without a king
G Am
Truth without a voice, one song left to sing
G Am
One song to sing
Am C
A wise man told me theres something you should know
G Am
The way to judge a man is to look into his soul
G Am
And youll soon see everything
C G
A voice from the past cried give peace a chance
Am
He paid our price now hes free at last
C G Am
And imagine, we called him a dreamer

[Chorus]
C G
How many times must good men die
Am
How many tears must our children cry
G Am
Till we suffer no more sadness
G Am G Am
Stop the madness, stop the madness

Solo in Am pentatonic, add b5th if necessary.

[Verse 2]
Am C
Is ashes are ashes and dust is dust
G Am
And our journey ends then return we must
G Am
To the sands of our shores
Am C
White doves will fly, peace to all
G Am
But tell me why do our peacemakers fall
G Am
Must we bury any more
C G
A hush from the crowd as the horse rode by
Am
A black lace veil hid the tears from her eyes
C G Am
And we all wept in silence

[Chorus]
C G
How many times must good men die
Am
How many tears will our children cry
G Am
Till we suffer no more sadness
G Am G Am B Am C G Em Am¦..
Stop the madness, stop all the madness.

[Solo] in Am pentatonic, add b5th if necessary, over the chord progression above.
Am pentatonic with b5:
e|-17-15---------------------------------------------------------|
B|-----17-16-15--------------------------------------------------|
G|-------------14-12---------------------------------------------|
D|---------------------14-13-12-10-------------------------------|
A|-------------------------------------12-10---------------------|
E|---------------------------------------------12-11-10-8-5------|

Just improvise within that for the solos. You know what type of sound to go for if youve heard the song.
