Michael Steele

Theme From An Imaginary Western

by Michael Steele
Michael Steele

Biografía:

Michael Steele is a bass guitarist whose career started with the band called "The Runaways" in 1977 (with Joan Jett and Sandy West). She later joined The Bangles in the early 1980's. Following the breakup of The Bangles, she retreated into her own world.

Early in the 1990's, she spent time writing songs with the intent of opening a solo career. There were reports of a potential deal with Columbia Records during that time, but regretfully the deal fell through.

Crash Wisdom was the short-lived side band of Bangle, Michael Steele. No albums or
any studio recordings had been found until now. The only recording of them
was from a bootleg of their 10-song live shows in 1994.
This version is very similar to Jack Bruce's original except for some changes made
in the guitar solo part.

Note: Chords for the 12-string guitar used by Ms. Steele;
Capo on 2; Use standard chords if not provided.

[Intro]
G G/F# Em G G/F# Em

[Verse 1]
G G/F# Em A7 A7/G F
When the wagons leave the city for the forest and further on
G G/F# Em A7 C
Painted wagons of the morning, dusty roads where they've gone
G G/F# Em A7 A7/G F
Sometimes travellin' through the darkness, met the summer comin' home
G G/F# Em Em7 C A7 G G/F#
Fallen faces by the wayside, looked as if they might have known

[Chorus]
Em Bm11 Em Bm11
Oh the sun was in their eyes, and the desert was dry
C G Em A C
In the country towns, where their laughter sounds.

[Verse 2]
G G/F# Em A7 A7/G F
Oh the dancing and the singing and the music when they played
G G/F# Em A7 C
Oh the fires that they started along the road with no regrets
G G/F# Em
Sometimes they found it, sometimes they kept it
A7 A7/G F
Often lost it along the way
G G/F# Em Em7 C A7 G G/F#
Fought each other to possess it, sometimes died with the sun in their eyes.

[Chorus]
Em Bm11 Em Bm11
Oh the sun was in their eyes, and the desert was dry
C G Em A C
In the country towns, where their laughter sounds.

[Solo]
G G/F# Em A7 F
G G/F# Em C A7 G D

[Chorus]
Em Bm11 Em Bm11
Oh the sun was in their eyes, and the desert was dry
C G Em A C
In the country towns, where their laughter sounds.

[Outro]
G G/F# Em A7 F
G G/F# Em C A Em
