Su nombre real es Melanie Jayne Chisholm, (12 de Enero) Liverpool (Inglaterra). Su carrera empieza cuando se puso un anuncio en el periódico llamado ‘Stage’ que buscaba a chicas que quisieran formar un grupo de pop. Y claro, con tanto talento, claramente fue elegida para este grupo llamado "Spice Girls". Con el grupo obtuvieron muchísimo éxito a finales de los 90 y marcaron un antes y un después en la historia del pop, vendiendo casi 75 millones de discos y singles.
