Dave y Serge Bielanko (son hermanos) crean MARAH en Filadelfía.
Publican como primer disco "Let's Cut The Crap...", un album casi acústico repleto de grandes canciones bañadas en fuego, sudor y alcohol.
Steve Earle se obsesiona con ellos, los ficha para su sello, y acto seguido graban "Kids In Philly", su primera obra maestra. Son inclasificables, un grupo de Rock con toques roots pero con la energía de una banda de Punk.
Su fama de gran grupo de directo corre de boca en boca, sus fans matarían por ellos.
