[Verse 1]
C D G
I can see it now, tripping on split stones
D Bm Em
Trying to make hits so we could play them loud
C Em G
Picking at our souls like we didn’t know
D Em
Just like we were only playing with the sound

[Pre-Chorus 1]
C D
Trying to control what was so low
Em G C D
But I never knew how then to just go and let it out
Em
Get it out

[Chorus]
D C
But if you could fight
D
If you could choose
Em D
If you could say all the things you wanted to
C
If you couldn’t lie
D Em
If you would only move like you had something to lose
C
If you could cry
D
If you couldn’t sleep it off
Em D
If you could feel everything you’ve ever caused
C
If you couldn’t lie
D Em
If you would only move like you had something to lose
C D Em G
Like you had something to lose
C D Em G
Like you had something to lose

[Verse 2]
C D
And I’m not saying i would always speak up
Em D
That it didn’t creep up on me all the time
C D
I’m just saying there was a window
G Em
Where you could’ve let go in that place and time

[Pre-Chorus 2]
C D
Laughing all it off like it was innocent
Em D
Oh, but all i ever wanted was to get rid of it
C D
And let it out
Em A
Get it out

[Chorus]
D C
But if you could fight
D
If you could choose
Em D
If you could say all the things you wanted to
C
If you couldn’t lie
D Em
If you would only move like you had something to lose
C
If you could cry
D
If you couldn’t sleep it off
Em D
If you could feel everything you’ve ever caused
C
If you couldn’t lie
D Em
If you would only move like you had something to lose
C D Em G
Like you had something to lose
C D Em G
Like you had something to lose

[Bridge]
Em
And I can see us there
You staring at me
G C D
And me just praying for air
Em
I can see us there
Standing cheek to cheek
D
And counting week by week
C
Wishing everything would be clear
G Em C
I can see us there
Em D C
I can see us there

[Chorus]
D C
But if you could fight
D
If you could choose
Em D
If you could say all the things you wanted to
C
If you couldn’t lie
D Em
If you would only move like you had something to lose
C
If you could cry
D
If you couldn’t sleep it off
Em D
If you could feel everything you’ve ever caused
C
If you couldn’t lie
D Em
If you would only move like you had something to lose
C D Em G
Like you had something to lose
C D Em G
Like you had something to lose
