La cara de Devonte Hynes, ex miembro del grupo experimental Test Icicles, es la cara y voz conductora de Lightspeed Champion (Domino Records).
Completamente alejado del sonido explosivo y bizarro de su anterior formación, este nuevo proyecto personal cuenta con la producción de Mike Mogis y colaboradores de la talla de Nate Walcott (pianista y trompetista de Bright eyes), Clark Baechle (batería de The Faint) y Emmy The Great, cantante y compositora británica, como vocalista invitada (quien participa asimismo en las giras).
