Liam James Payne (29 de agosto de 1993, 20 años) de Wolverhampton, Inglaterra es un estudiante de música en City of Wolverhampton College. Payne audicionó anteriormente a la quinta temporada del programa "The X Factor", cuando tenía 14 años, y llegó hasta la Casa de los jueces pero Simon Cowell decidió que no estaba preparado y le pidió que volviera en dos años.
