Johan Julius Christian Sibelius - Jan Sibelius - (8 de diciembre de 1865, Hämeenlinna, Finlandia - 20 de septiembre de 1957, Järvenpää, Finlandia) fue un compositor de música sinfónica finlandés del siglo XX. Considerado un excepcional artista en Finlandia, desempeñó una función determinante entre finales del siglo XIX y principios del XX en la creación de un estilo musical propio dentro del género. Su reputación internacional se caracteriza por fluctuar entre posiciones opuestas y enfrentadas.
