METEORS - John McCutcheon
---------------------------------------------------------------

VERSE 1:
D A D
On the night when the stars come down
D G
We camp there in the meadow
D A D
Far away from the lights of town
D A
Beneath the mountain’s shadow

CHORUS
D G D
The sky is alive on a mid-summer night
D G A
Before the moon comes rising
D G D
Stars will dance with their ribbons of light
D A G
Stretching to the far horizon

VERSE 2:
D A D
Silent in a field of grass
D G
We lie so still for hours
D A D
The August sky is shooting past
D A
And the night comes down in showers

CHORUS

BRIDGE
Bm
Far away the ships at sea
Bm A
Plot their lonely courses
Bm
Looking homeward just like me
Bm G A
To heaven’s star-lit forces

INSTRUMENTAL CHORUS

VERSE 3:
D A D
Once a year in the midnight dark
D G
We watch the stars a-fallin’
D A D
We see the sky all streaked with sparks
D A
And we hear the heavens callin’

CHORUS x2
