Biografía:
Janis Joplin (1943 - 1970), su nombre completo es Janis Lyn Joplin. Fue un símbolo femenino de la contracultura de los 60. Fue la primera mujer blanca considerada gran estrella del rock.
Nació el 19 de enero de 1943 en Port Arthur, localidad industrial de Texas. Los padres de Janis habían querido que fuera maestra. Su padre, Seth, trabajaba en una refinería. Su madre, Doroty, había destacado cantando en su instituto.
Janis, en el primer año de instituto, se tiñó el pelo de naranja y se unió a una pandilla de jóvenes radicales.
