[Intro]
Em Em

[Verse 1]
Am Am G G
I'm still feeling the ecstasy out in the midnight air
Am Am G G
I see lovers among the trees, wondering if you are there
Am Am G E E
You're not leaving much time for me, it's such a sad affair

[Chorus 1]
Dm C G
You call me on the phone and say you want to know me
Dm C G
You tell me you're alone and say you want me baby
Dm C G E7 E7 E7 E7
You know I'm not the only one playing at hit and run
C F
Hit and run, hit and run
C F
Hit and run, hit and run
C F G G E E
Hit and run, hit and run

[Bridge]

It was another place and love was winning
D C Bb F G G G E E
Now it's a different race, have to begin once again

[Verse 2]
Am Am G G
I don't hear the same violins playing out in the rain
Am Am G G
I just see long black cadilacs cruising the streets again
Am Am G E E
You're not stopping me in my tracks missing the morning train

[Chorus 2]
Dm C G
You've been working like hell trying to sell yourself
Dm C G
You've been working like hell trying to sell baby
Dm C G E7 E7 E7 E7
You know I'm not the only one playing at Hit and Run
C F
Hit and run, hit and run
C F
Hit and run, hit and run
C F
Hit and run, hit and run
Dm C G
You've been working like hell trying to sell yourself
Dm C G
You've been working like hell trying to sell baby
Dm C G
You cut off all my love and say that you own me
Dm C G
You cut off all my love and say you own me baby
Dm C G
You know I'm not the only one playing at hit and run
Dm C G
No, I'm not the only one playing at hit and run
Dm C G
No
