[Intro]
F E Db E D D (x2)

[Chorus 1]
G D E
Come dancing on my stage
F Db Cm
My bullets have a silver lining
G D E
Wind me up and set me free
F C
My uniform's bright
Eb Ab
Trumpets blaring, princes sharing,
Eb G C F G
Swords are flashing, kingdoms falling

[Verse 1]
F E
When you're dancing in the ballroom moonlight,
Db Em D
feet quicksilver lace My Lady
F E Db
When you lose yourself inside the city jungle
Em D
then you're pretty sure of finding a hiding place

[Chorus 2]
G D E
Come stepping through my head
F Db Cm
My cloak will give us both protection
G D E
Set me up upon your wall
F C
I'll dance all night long
Eb Ab
Cannons roaring, banners soaring,
Eb G C F G
Lances flashing, the blood is pouring

[Verse 2]
F E
When you tremble at the dragons roaring
Db Em D
at the forest's door I'll hold you close My Lady
F E
When your house shakes at the jetplanes' howling
Db Em D
causing mousequakes in your cornflakes, then I'll be by your side
F E
When you're knocking on the doors of death and
Db Em D
rocking wolves in cradles scared of losing your Secret Rose

[Chorus 3]
G D E
Accept my handkerchief
F Db Cm
Tears shining 'cause the show is over
G D E
Take my arm and walk with me
F C
Together we're free
Eb Ab
Brakes are screeching, statues preaching
Eb G C F G
Hoardings flashing, empires crashing

[Instrumental]
F E Db E D D (x2)

[Verse 3]
F E
And the time is getting much too late
Db Em D
for more than dreaming new schemes for making the darkness bright
F A E
When you're moving in the ballroom moonlight
Db Em D
feet quicksilver lace My Lady
F E
When you tremble at the dragons roaring
Db E D
at the forest's door I'll hold you close My Lady
F E
And the time is getting much too late
Db Em D
for more than dreaming new schemes for making the darkness bright
F E
And the dreams are getting much too bad
Db Em D A Bm D
for more than trying to find a mountain to put them right
