Biografía:
Irma Thomas (18 de febrero de 1941, Ponchatoula, Louisiana) es una cantante de soul, rhythm and blues y blues de Nueva Orleans. Es conocida como "la reina del soul de Nueva Orleans".
Thomas es contemporánea de Aretha Franklin y Etta James, pero nunca ha conseguido su éxito comercial; aun así tiene muchos seguidores entre los aficionados al soul. En 2007 ganó el premio Grammy por el "mejor álbum de blues contemporáneo" por After the Rain, su primer Grammy en una larga y aclamada carrera de 45 años.
