GWAR es una banda de Thrash Metal satírico formada en 1985. Es reconocida por sus elaborados disfraces inspirados en películas de ciencia ficción y terror, sus letras obscenas y sus actuaciones escénicas, que consisten en interpretaciones humorísticas con temáticas conflictivas como el tabú y la política. Los disfraces, que son generalmente realizados de látex, poliestireno expandido y goma endurecida, cubren poco el cuerpo de los músicos, siendo mayoritariamente cubierto por maquillaje.
