Freelance Whales es una banda de indie rock proveniente de Queens, Nueva York, que consiste en el líder Judah Dadone y sus compañeros de banda Nicole Mourelatos alias Doris Flynn Cellar, Chuck Criss, Jacob Hyman y Kevin Read
Freelance Whales se reunieron en 2008, después de conectar a través de Craigslist y amigos-de-amigos. El álbum debut de la banda, "Weathervanes" fue compuesto en gran parte por el líder Judah Dadone, las letras se basan en una combinación de recuerdos de la infancia y el sueño diario.
