Biografía:
Focus surgió del proyecto del clásicamente entrenado Thijs Van Leer, quien consiguió al mando de su conjunto, captar el interés de Jan Akkerman, guitarrista y laudista virtuoso, considerado durante un corto periodo de tiempo como mejor guitarrista del mundo. Van Leer y Akkerman no tardaron en conectar. Más tarde, el guitarrista declaró estar completamente enganchado a esta banda. Focus arranca en 1970 con 'In and Out of Focus'. En su primera etapa, Focus era una banda de rockandroll progresivo con elementos neo-clásicos y jazzeros.
