This is one of my favorite songs right now and I could not find chords anywhere
online so I decided to figure it out myself! Great song by a great new artist! It
is in standard tuning, listen to the song for strum pattern!
Song: Always Want What You Can't Have
Artist: Drake White

Intro: D G D G D G A D

Verse 1:
D G
There’s a starry eyed woman.
D G
Who lives up the road.
D G A D
I pick her wild flowers, Lord she still tells me no.
D G D G
I don’t know why, but I want her so bad.
D G A D
Guess you always want what you can’t have.

Chorus:
G D G D
I guess that’s life, oh that’s just the way it goes.
G D A D
Well you won’t get something in your hands that you ain't never got to hold.
G D G D
And I don’t know why I need her, but she’s about to drive me mad.
G D A D
But I guess you always want what you can’t have.

(repeat Intro)

Verse 2:
D G D G
There’s a little piece of land, where I used to go.
D G A D
Where the river runs clear and wild, oh and time, it moves slow.
D G D G
The old man he won’t sell it, no matter how much I ask.
D G A D
Guess you always want what you can’t have.

Chorus:
G D G D
I guess that’s life, oh that’s just the way it goes.
G D A D
Well you won’t get something in your hands that you ain't never got to hold.
G D G D
And when I drive past that old man's land, I just shake my had and laugh.
G D A D
I guess you always want what you can’t have.

(repeat intro x2)

Chorus:
G D G D
I guess that’s life, oh that’s just the way it goes.
G D A D
Well you won’t get something in your hands that you ain't never got to hold.
G D G D
And I don’t know why we need it, it makes us forget what we had.
G D A D
But I guess you always want what you can’t have.

(repeat intro)
