Formada pelo encontro de cinco mentes criativas (Joss Van Wilder, Robert Milton, Lawrence Libor, Trev e Paul Roberts) em Nottingham, Reino Unido, em 2008, Dog Is Dead lançou uma trilogia de singles. A trilogia consiste de "Glockenspiel Song", "Young" e "River Jordan".
Cativando sua cidade natal quase que imediatamente desde o começo de sua carreira, aparição em alguns festivais, eles se tornaram a única banda sem gravadora na cobertura da BBC2 e Summer Sundae.
