Intro: Am C Am E Am (x4)

Am C Am C Am
Wasting time just going mindless watching your charades.
C
When you were younger, did it occur to you,
Am C
Ten years from then you'd act the same age?
Am C Am
I cannot carry on this way, although I've carried on your every little thing.
G
Carry me away.

Chorus:
C
Did you feel like stomping the roses?
Am C Am F
Smashing down all the feeling inside of them is bad business.
C
The way you're stomping the roses.

Am C Am C Am
I was flipping channels on my television and it made me feel unwell.
C
One of those complicated soap operas,
Am C
I almost felt like I was watching myself.
Am C Am
I cannot carry on this way, although I've carried on your every little thing.
G
Carry me away.

Chorus:
C
Did you feel like stomping the roses?
Am C Am F
Smashing down all the feeling inside of them is bad business.
C Am
The way you're stomping the roses, everyone knows it.

C C C Am
And I know, I know, I know, I know it's over and I
C C C Am
I know, I know, I know, Always been your token nice guy.
C C C Am
I know, I know, I know, And I know that you rule your whole world.
E Am
I thought I could live in it, but I just can't.
C
You know you're stomping the roses.
Am C Am F
Smashing down all the feeling inside of them is bad business.
C Am
The way you're stomping the roses, everyone knows it.

C
Stomping the roses
Am C Am F
Smashing down all the feeling inside of them is bad business.
C
The way you're stomping the roses.

Am C Am E Am (x4)
