The soundtrack is composed by Hirokazu Ando, Tadashi Ikegami, Shogo Sakai and Takuto Kitsuta and contains mostly remixes and re-interpretations of classic Nintendo songs and character themes from assorted games.

A subsequent album, Smashing... Live!, was released in 2003. Smashing... Live! is an orchestral album, with many of the themes from Smash Bros. Melee performed by an orchestra at a live concert in Japan.
