Eddplant

Biography:

Eddplant is a Folk Rock singer-songwriter who grew up in Birmingham and now lives in London.

Ed started playing guitar in secondary school, aged 11, inspired by rock giants Oasis and pop prince Robbie Williams. Soon he was writing original material, which he performed as part of a band with two friends. In 2005, Ed moved to Darlington where he was immersed in the North East folk scene. This developed his playing and lyrical style, as his influences grew to include various folk and folk rock artists.

Intro- G

G
Sometimes when i'm singing
you draw pictures on the walls
Em
And I wonder then if how i feel
makes sense to you at all
C
I show tunes to you I've written
so you cover them in paint
D
They're better now, grey and smudged and
dirty like your face

G
I swung you to the city
and you wished that it was new
Em
so you could write an art-house film
and i could make my debut
C
All I am asking of you now
is just to take me back in time
D
to the nights above the city
When you asked if you were mine

G
I'll drive with you all morning
down the streets and avenues
Em
And then we'll sit among the gravestones
and I'll try to break the news
C
that I am happier with you
than I will ever be again
D
I'll give up before I'm done
and we can dance in the rain

G
I swung you to the city
and you wished that it was new
Em
so you could write an art-house film
and i could make my debut
C
All I am asking of you now
is just to take me back in time
D
to the nights above the city
When you swore that you were mine

G
I would give everything I have
to tell you everything I want
Em
But there's too much I have to tell you
and too much that I forgot
C
I wonder now if all this time with you
will linger in my mind
D
beyond the days we spend so vacantly
When this is left behind

G
I won't regret the taste of you
or how your head feels on my chest
C
I'll never spill a single secret
or a sin that you confessed
Em
And I won't cry when this is over
When it's time to say goodbye
D
No I won't cry
I won't cry

G
I swung you to the city
and you wished that it was new
Em
so you could write an art-house film
and i could make my debut
[no chord]
All I am asking of you now
is just to take me back in time
to the nights above the city
When you swore that you were mine
