Dm Cadd9 G
Seven times I went down
Dm Cadd9 G
six times I walked back.
Dm Cadd9 G
And I don't fear the dark anymore
Dm Cadd9 G
'cause I'm become all that, all that, all that

Dm Cadd9
I will be rocks, I will be water.
G Dm
I will leave this to my daughter:
Cadd9 G
lift your head up in the wind.
Dm
When you feel yourself grow colder
Cadd9 G
wrap the night around your shoulders
Dm Cadd9 (play until Cadd9 pattern 4 times)
and I will be with you even then
G Dm Cadd9 G
even when I cannot see your face anymore.

Dm Cadd9 G
Don't forget the time
Dm Cadd9 G
I wooed him with red wine.
Dm Cadd9 G
The devil he wore such a fine, fine shirt
Dm Cadd9 G
and it stayed so clean while he dragged me through the dirt.
Cadd9 (4 times) G (4 times)
Now, honey, don't trust anyone who looks you in the eye
Cadd9 (4 times) G (four times)
don't take any kindness, it's a demand in disguise.

Dm Cadd9
I will be rocks, I will be water.
G Dm
I will leave this to my daughter:
Cadd9 G

Dm

and I will be with you even then
G (play four times) Dm Cadd9 G

Dm Cadd9 G
I have seen such things child (2 times)
Cadd9 (4 times) G (four times)
on this, and the other side.
Cadd9 (four times)
Words cannot show you
G (Four times)
the midnight owl it does not know you.
Cadd9 (four times)
You will see for your sweet
G (four times)
self by and by.
