Say The Words Now

by Dc Talk
Dc Talk

Biography:

dc Talk is made up of Toby McKeehan (tobyMac), Michael Tait, and Kevin Max.

The three met while they were young men at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. They formed the band dc Talk (a reference to Washington D.C., but later marketed as 'decent Christian talk' by their label) and, as of the year 2000, spent twelve solid years together, performing all over the world, recording 6 albums, and earning many awards, including 4 Grammy awards.

I got something for you, man.

G, D, A, Em,
G, Bm, A
(You gotta say it, you gotta say it)

VERSE 1:

Bm Bm/A
Silence is golden but these are the words
Bm
that the world needs to hear. (Brothers and sisters)
Bm Bm/A
Terms of compassion will cause a reaction
Bm Bm/D
As love drawls them near
G Bm
But still we choose to hide behind the face of pride
A Em
Pretending we are blind to the calling
G Bm
This is my point and case, if hate can be erased
A Em
With such a simple phrase, why are we stalling?

CHORUS:

G D A Em
Say the words, say the words, say "I love you" (Say "I love you").
G Bm A
Say the words I long to hear (I long to hear them).
G D A Em
Say the words, say the words, say "I love you" (Say "I love you").
G Bm A
Say the words I long to hear (I long, I long, I long to hear them).

G Bm A
Ya gotta say it, ya gotta say it, say it.

VERSE 2:

G Em
Some just assume we already know
Bm A
Of the love that they feel. (Brothers and sisters)
G Em
Some have a heartfelt emotion
Bm A
But never the words to reveal.
G Bm
I think we all relate, so why are we afraid
A Em
To let our hearts convey what we're feeling?
G Bm
There is a world in need with hungry souls to feed
A
And love can intercede if we're willing, so...

CHORUS:

Bm
The word love, well it was once overused
back in the 70's the word was abused
G/B
But I refuse to let love be diluted.
We can't allow physical lust to intrude it.
Em/B
Or pollute it cause there ain't no excuse
for the greatest gift of all to be abused
Bm
So choose to lose the pride that may tug at you.
Don't be afraid of the words "I love you".

CHORUS:

G D A Em
Say the words, say the words, say "I love you".
G Bm A
Say the words I long to hear (I long to hear them).
G D A Em
Say the words, say the words, say "I love you" (Say "I love you").
G Bm A
Say the words I long to hear (I long, I long, I long to hear them).

CHORUS:
