Chris recorded his first album, The Swiss Army Romance, in 2000. The following year, he recorded Further Seems Forever's debut album The Moon Is Down. Verse:

G Cadd9
She smiled in a big way
G G/F#
The way a girl like that smiles
G Cadd9
When the world is hers
?
And she held your eyes

G Em7
Out in the breezeway
G/F# ?
Down by the shore
G Cadd9
In the lazy summer

G
And she pulled you in
G/F#
And she bit your lip
Em7
And she made you hers

G
And she looked
?
Deep into you as you lay together
G/F#
Quiet in the grasp
Cadd9
Of dusk and summer

Chorus:

G Cadd9 ?
But you've already lost (x3)

G
When you only had
G/F#
Barely enough
Cadd9
To hang on

(Verse two same as first verse)

Bridge:

D---------------------0-------------0--------0--------------------------|
A-7------7------6-------6-----------------------------9--------9--------|
E-----------------------------------------------------------------------|

And she said no one is alone
The way you are alone
And you held her looser
Than if you would have
If you ever could have known

Some things tie your life together
In slender threads of things to treasure
Days like that should last and last and last

Outro:

G Cadd9 ?
But you've already lost (x3)

G
When you only had
G/F#
Barely enough
Cadd9
To hang on

G/F#
Hang on
Cadd9
Hang on
G
Hang on
