D D7
Curly Latin kinkies,
G G7
Mixed with yellow Chinkees,
A A7
If you lump it all together,

Well, you've got a recipe for a get-along scene;
G A
Oh, what a beautiful dream,
A7
If it could only come true, you know, you know.

Chorus 1:

D G A G
What we need is a great big melting pot,
D G A G
Big e-nough to take the world and all it's got.
D G A
Keep it stirring for a hundred years or more,
G D
And turn out coffee coloured people by the score.

Interlude:

D C Bm A

Verse 3:

D G
Rabbis and the friars, bishops and the gurus,
A A7
We got the Beatles, or the Sun God,
Well, it really doesn't matter,

What re-ligion you choose, no, no no, ooh.

Verse 4:

D D7
Mick and Lady Faithful,
G G7
Or... Mrs. Graceful.
A A7
You know that livin' could be tasteful,
D
We should all get together in a lovin' machine,
G A
I better call up the Queen,
A7
It's only fair that she knows, you know, you know.

Chorus 2:

D G A G
What we need is a great big melting pot,
D G A G
Big e-nough to take the world and all it's got.
D G A
Keep it stirring for a hundred years or more,
G D A7
And turn out coffee coloured people by the score.

Chorus 3:

D G A G
What we need is a great big melting pot,
D G
Big e-nough, big enough, big e-nough,
A G
To take the world and all it's got.
D G A
Keep it stirring for a hundred years or more,
G D A7
And turn out coffee coloured people by the score.

(Repeat to Fade)
