[Verse 1]
A E F#m D A E
Where are we? And what the hell is going on?
F#m D A E F#m D A E F#m D
The dust has only just begun to fall, Crop circles in the carpet, sinking, feeling.
A E F#m D A
Spin me 'round again and rub my eyes.
E F#m D
This can't be happening.
A E F#M D
When busy streets amass with people
A E F#M D
Would stop to hold their heads heavy.

[Chorus]
D
Hide and seek.
F#m E F#m E D
Trains and sewing machines.
A E F#M D A E F#M D
Oily marks appear on walls Where pleasure moments hung before.
A E F#M D A E F#M D
The takeover, the sweeping insensitivity of this still life.

[Verse 2]
A D
Hide and seek.
F#m E F#m E D
Trains and sewing machines.
A D
Blood and tears,
F#m E F#m E D
They were here first.

[Verse 3]
D A
Mmm, what you say?
F#m E
Mm, that you only meant well? Well, of course you did.
D A
Mmm, what you say?
F#m E
Mm, that it's all for the best? Of course it is.
D A
Mmm, what you say?
F#m E
Mm, that it's just what we need? And you decided this.
D A
Mm, What you say?
F#m E
Mmm, what did you say?

[Chorus 2] (x2)
A E
Ransom notes keep falling out your mouth.
D
Mid-sweet talk, newspaper word cut-outs.
A E
Speak no fear, no I don't believe.
D
You don't care a bit. You don't care a little bit.
