[Intro]
G C D G C D

[Verse 1]
C G C G
Things have been getting pretty rough around here.
C Em
No coffee cups flying 'round the room,
G C
just daggers born from tears.
C D
Let's try to crawl out from under our breath
G Em
We can never break up so I love you to death.
C D
The man i've become was so comfortably dumb, i believe you could mean it but you're not having fun
G C D
and I'm sorry.

[Verse 2]
C G C G
I learned to breathe i guess some time ago,
C Em G C
but just recently i learned what it means to take it slow.
C D G Em
i'm lousy with excuses and you know i love to swear,
C
so goddamnit i'll swear to whatever's out there
D
that i love you more now than i ever have

[Chorus]
G C
so let's pick another day
D
to call it quits and walk away,
G C D
let's find some other time to break down
G C
the storm has gone and blown on through,
G D
shake off the darkness and i will too
G C F
you might leave me still, but not today
D G C D
for now, can we just stay?
G C D
can we just stay?

[Verse 3]
C G C G
you would think by now that i'd be fine
C Em
you know like really stretching out
G C
but it would all be lies
C D G
i'm no longer in control of my own shoes
Em
there they go
C
quickly running out of booze
D
drinking to kill myself just to live without you
C D
over there, where i still stared sometime

[Chorus]
G C
so let's pick another day
D
to call it quits and walk away,
G C D
let's find some other time to break down
G C
the storm has gone and blown on through,
G D
shake off the darkness and i will too
G C F
you might leave me still, but not today
D G C D
for now, can we just stay?
G C D
can we just stay?

G C F

D G C D
For now can we just stay?
G
For now can we just stay?
