[Intro]
Em------/D--C----- (4x)

[Verse 1]
G D/F# Em
I hear the drums echoing tonight
Am G/B C-- D
But she only whispers of some quiet conversation
G D/F# Em
She's coming on a 12:30 flight
Am G/B C-- D
The moonlit wings reflect the stars that guide me to salvation
G D/F# Em
I stopped an old man along the way
Am G/B C-- D
Hoping to find some forgotten words or ancient melodies
G D/F# Em
He turned to me as if to say,
Am G/B - C - D
"Hurry boys, it's waiting there for you!"

[Chorus]
Em C G D/F#
It's gonna take a lot to drag me away from you
Em C G D/F#
There's nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do
Em C G-- D/F#
I bless the rains down in Africa
Em C G D---
Gonna take some time to do the things we never had

[Instrumental (Similar to Intro)]
Em------/D--C----- (2x)

[Verse 2]
G D/F# Em
The wild dogs cry out in the night
Am G/B C-- D
As they grow restless for some solitary company
G D/F# Em
I know that I must do what's right
Am G/B C-- D
As sure as Kilimanjaro rises up of the Serengeti
G D/F# Em
I seek to cure what's deep inside,
Am G/B - C - D
Frightened by this thing that I've become

[Chorus]
Em C G D/F#
It's gonna take a lot to drag me away from you
Em C G D/F#
There's nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do
Em C G-- D/F#
I bless the rains down in Africa
Em C G D---
Gonna take some time to do the things we never had

[Instrumental]
Em-- /F# - G-- /B - C----- /B (2x)

(Similar to Verse)
G-- D/F# -- Em -- Am-- G/B -- C-- D
G-- D/F# -- Em -- Am-- G/B --

C-- D------------
“Hurry boys, it's waiting there for you!”

[Final Chorus]
Em C G D/F#
It's gonna take a lot to drag me away from you
Em C G D/F#
There's nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do
