Pierce The Veil

The New National Anthem

by Pierce The Veil
Pierce The Veil

Biography:

Pierce the Veil was founded by Mike Fuentes and Vic Fuentes in 2006, after the disbandment of Before Today. The brothers continued to write songs together and eventually came up with enough material for a new full-length album. Still backed by their label, Equal Vision Records, they wrote and recorded an entire album on their own in Seattle, WA with Producer Casey Bates. The brothers released the album 'A Flair for the Dramatic' on June 26, 2007 under a new name: Pierce the Veil

Em C G Cmaj
Drag my hand behind you like a chain behind a truck
D F C G Em
Sparks over your carpet while I chase you through the darkness
Dm Em Cmaj C G F
Somebody's supposed to fall in love, but nobody even calls
Em D
Somebody's supposed to...

C F G Cmaj C G Dm
Tear this place apart until you find me hiding, silently I wait
C F G Cmaj C Dm G
You'll be excited just to see me someday. Everything's ok...

F C G Em Dm
Summer and gold throw their colors at the dark
Em Cmaj F G
A mother tells her son, "Darling look at the sparks."
Dm Em G C
But you hold my attention without even trying
Dm Em G C
A beautiful reflection from firework eyes

Dm Cmaj
But never means forever
F C G Em
Desperation and hanging in the backyard at night
Dm Cmaj G Dm
Somebody's supposed to fall in love...

C F G Cmaj C G Dm
Tear this place apart until you find me hiding, silently I wait
C F G Cmaj C Dm G
You'll be excited just to see me someday. Everything's ok...

Cmaj C G

D C F Cmaj Em
Love! Don't forget to bleed so slowly...
Dm D G Em Cmaj C
Haunted hearts we melt over the fabric of your floor

Cmaj Dm G
I'm holdin' her just like she's gold, but
C Em G Em D
I've been running from the sun. Oh no, no...
Em F G Dm
And if I ever catch the ones who hurt you
G Em Cmaj G
I'm hoping that God looks away this time...
C Em Dm
Why would I let you go? x2
C F G
Let you go!

C F G Cmaj C G Dm
Tear this place apart until you find me hiding, silently I wait
C F G Cmaj C Dm G
You'll be excited just to see me someday. Everything's ok...
