in 1957.

(Intro)
Ab Eb

(Verse 1)
Eb Ab
I must make up my mind today, what to have,

what to hold.
Bb Bbm Eb Ab
A poor man's roses, or a rich man's gold.
Eb Ab
One's as wealthy as a king in a palace,

though he's callous and cold.
Bb Bbm Eb
He may learn to give his heart for love,
Ab
instead of buying it with gold.

(Chorus)
Ab Db Eb
Yes, the poor man's roses, and the thrill
Ab
when we kiss.
Fm E
They'll be memories of paradise that I'll
Bbm Eb
never miss.

(Verse 2)
Eb Ab
And yet the hand that brings a rose tonight,

is the hand I will hold.
Bb Bbm Eb
For the rose of love means more to me than
Ab
any rich man's gold.

(Chorus)
Ab Db Eb
Yes, the poor man's roses, and the thrill
Ab
when we kiss.
Fm E
They'll be memories of paradise that I'll
Bbm Eb
never miss.

(Verse 3)
Eb Ab
And yet the hand that brings a rose tonight,

is the hand I will hold.
Bb Bbm Eb
For the rose of love means more to me than
Ab
any rich man's gold.

(Outro)
Bb Bbm Eb
Yes, the rose of love means more to me than
Ab
any rich man's gold.

...Ab Bbm Eb Ab...Ab Db Ab...(Fade.)
