Second Place
Paper Route
from ‘Real Emotion’

[Verse 1]
Eb Cm
All my life, I've rooted for the underdog
Ab Eb
Cause underdogs were born to crawl on the ground where they'll bury me.
Eb Cm
All my life, I've fought the urge to bottle it up
Ab Eb
I pour it in a paper cup, old friends on the TV screen

[Chorus]
Cm Ab Eb
But you, you're on my side, on my side, when second place is so familiar
Ab Eb
On my side, on my side, so don't think twice, I'm going nowhere
Ab Eb
I'm going nowhere

Ab Eb Ab Eb

[Verse 2]
Eb Cm
All your life, as heavy as a cannonball
Ab Eb
We're crashing into every wall, with the grace of a symphony

[Chorus]
Cm Ab Eb
Cause I am on your side, on your side, when second place is so familiar
Cm Ab Eb
On your side, on your side, so don't think twice, I'm going nowhere
Ab Eb Ab Eb
I'm going nowhere, nowhere

Ab Eb

[Bridge]
Ab
On your side
Eb
I've heard you say it countless times
Ab
Without tradition new things die
Eb
Well this changes everything

Ab Eb

[Ending]
Ab Eb
All of my life
Ab Eb
All of my life
Ab Eb
All of my life
Ab Eb
All of my life
Ab Eb
All of my life
