The Unicorn Song

F Gm
A long time ago when the earth was green
C7 F
There was more kinds of animals than you'd ever seen
F F7 Gm
They'd run around free while the earth was being born
F Gm C7 F
But the loveliest of all was the u--ni--corn

F Gm
There was green alligators and long necked geese
C7 F
Some humpty back camels and some chimpanzees
F F7 Gm
Cats and rats and elephants but sure as you're born
F Gm C7 F
The loveliest of all was the u--ni--corn

F Gm
But the Lord seen some sinnin' and it caused him pain
C7 F
He said Stand back - I'm gonna make it rain
F F7 Gm
So hey brother Noah I'll tell you what to do
F Gm C7 F
Build me a floating zoo

F Gm
And take some of them green alligators and long necked geese
C7 F
Some humpty back camels and some chimpanzees
F F7 Gm
Cats and rats and elephants but sure as you're born
F Gm C7 F
Don # 17 t you forget the u--ni--corn

F Gm
Old Noah was there to answer the call
C7 F
And he finished up the ark as the rain started to fall
F F7 Gm
And he marched in the animals two by two
F Gm C7 F
And he called out as they went through

F Gm
There was green alligators and long necked geese
C7 F
Some humpty back camels and some chimpanzees
F F7 Gm
Cats and rats and elephants but sure as you're born
F Gm C7 F
But Lord I just don't see your u--ni--corns

F Gm
Well Noah looked out through the driving rain
C7 F
But the unicorns were hiding - playing silly games
F F7 Gm
They were kickin' and a-splashin' while the rain was pourin'
F Gm C7 F
Oh them silly unicorns

F Gm
And take some of them green alligators and long necked geese
C7 F
Some humpty back camels and some chimpanzees
F F7 Gm
Cats and rats and elephants but sure as you're born
F Gm C7 F
Don # 17 t you forget the u--ni--corn

F Gm
And then the ark started moving and it drifted with the tide
C7 F
And the unicorns looked up from the rock and cried
F F7 Gm
And the water came up and sort of floated them away
F Gm C7 F
And that's why you've never seen a unicorn to this day

F Gm
You'll see lots of alligators and long necked geese
C7 F
You'll see humpty back camels and some chimpanzees
F F7 Gm
Cats and rats and elephants but sure as you're born
F Gm C7 F
You're never gonna see no u--ni--corns
