G Em
You don't say that you love him
C D
But it shows in every word
G Em
When he played his favourite music
C D
Was the best you'd ever heard
G Em
And you tell me that he couldn't watch
C D
The violence cut by men
G G
When all is quiet throughout the land
C D
I hope you meet again

Chorus
G D G
I hope you'll meet again
C G D
I hope you'll meet again
G D G
I hope you'll meet again
C G D
I hope you'll meet again

G Em
His feelings were as deep for you
C D
And maybe even more
G Em
Though you probably didn't show it
C D
You knew his heart was sure
G Em
Though he left without a single word
C D
It's better in the end
C G
There are no words to say goodbye
C D
I hope you meet again

Chorus:
G Em
I never even met him
C D
But I know we'd be a pair
G Em
We'd have sat in any pub in town
C D
And had a good time there
G Em
But there's something left between us
C D
Stands in both our ways
C G
When all these things are sorted out
C D
I hope we'll meet some day

Chorus:

G Em
You tell me of his interests
C D
How he loved the sound of trains
G Em
Whenever you hear that whistle
C D
It's calling out his name
G Em
All the lonely years you suffered
C D
Remembering back when
C G
The days seemed so much longer
C D
I hope you meet again

Chorus:
