[Verse]
C Am/E G
Sad little rendezvous
C F G
Waking to stumble on through

[Pre-Chorus]

I remember that we all remember you

That's what they say
G
They are crazy in a way

C Am/E G
Downtown Tide Side Cafe
C F
Where they keep all the lights down low
G
So they don't get in your way

[Pre-Chorus]
Am Abaug
Here's to the old the new
E F
And mostly you
C G
And the strength we've had to have

[Chorus]
F C
You're so helpless
F C
And I'm so jealous
Ab
Some things never change
F C D C D
And you could never go home again

[Verse]
C Am/E G
I didn't come to see you
C F G
I came to reclaim something I'd lost
Am Abaug E F
Something sweet and tender like dignity
C G
Something to hold on to at all cost

C Am/E G
Too many years have gone by
C
And there's too much time
F G
Between the love and the lies

[Pre-Chorus]
Am Abaug E F
I wonder sometimes where we finally go
C G
Chances are I'll never know

[Chorus]
F C
And you're so helpless
F C
And I'm so jealous
Ab
Some things never change
F C D C D C
And you can never go home again
