I can’t say in all truth that it has been the best if years.
Em7 D C2 G
The year will soon be over and another will appear.
Em7 D C2 G
It’s time to wipe the slate, forgive me for all my mistakes.
G (Fill) G G (Fill) G
Lets reminisce some more…’Cos that’s what friends are for.

Em7 D C2 G
It’s you and me together, you don't have to be alone.
Em7 D C2 G
Believe me now, it’s Christmas I won’t leave you on your own.
Em7 D C2 G
Just dry your eyes, now’s not the time, have one more drink and you’ll be fine.
G (Fill) G (Intro)
And I’ll carry you home this Christmas

Em7 D C2 G
It’s been a bad year and I think we both know why.
Em7 D C2 G
We have said goodbye to many people in our lives.
Em7 D C2 G
They want us to raise some cheer and thank the Lords that we’re still here
G (Fill) G G (Fill) G
So let’s have one more drink…Life’s shorter than you think.

Em7 D C2 G
It’s funny how that each year passes quicker than the last.
Em7 D C2 G
The years are like these beers, we love ‘em but they go too fast.
Em7 D C2 G
Just raise a glass to have some friends, I’ll stay with you right t’ the end.
G (Fill) G (Intro)
And I’ll carry you home this Christmas.

Em7 D C2 G x2

Em7 D C2 G
So look towards another year and hope for better days.
Em7 D C2 G
And ask yourself, if you think that you need t’ change your ways.
Em7 D C2 G
Let’s raise a glass to one more year, and know that I am always here.
G (Fill) G G (Fill) G
And I’ll carry you home this Christmas…And I’ll carry you home this Christmas.
G (Fill) G (Intro)
And I’ll carry you home This Christmas
