[Verse]
D A
I remember the times, they were paper thin
Bm
I could feel your heartbeat, through your skin
A
Before we let the darkness in

Words held their meaning

D
You were the black sheep
A
But we were a team
Bm
We never fit in no to anyone’s scene
A
Looking back, was it all just a dream
Words held their meaning

[Pre-chorus]
G Bm
we never wasted time
A
Held our breath ‘til there wasn’t a sound
G Bm A
We can’t turn back time to the days when you were around

[Chorus]
G Bm A
Back in the day when i first met you
In the back seat of the benz
G Bm A
There was a day when i first kissed you
G
Was the beginning of the end
D Bm
So many wasted sunsets
A G
So many wasted nights
D A
So many wasted moments
D
By the tracks of the midland line

[Verse]
D A
I remember the night that you let me in
Bm
You were a broken heart, i was lost within
A
You were falling apart, we were high on everything

A life without meaning
D A
Hanging by a thread, we were seventeen
Bm
Could it be the end, you said you’d never leave
A
Running through my head are all the things you said to me
G
When you were my meaning

[Pre-chorus]

we never wasted time
A
Held our breath ‘til there wasn’t a sound

We can’t turn back time to the days when you were around
