(verse)
G
The sun is gonna wake up shinin', it'll be the only thing that's blindin'
Em
When the buzz wears off.
G
My bloodshot eyes will remind me, of the pretty stranger sleepin' beside me
Em
When the buzz wears off.
C
Thought the haze could erase all the hurt that remains,
Am C Am
but believe me Tryin' to forget that you love somebody ain't easy.

(Chorus)
G F#m
Last night I got to thinkin', if I get to drinkin', maybe I could fly higher than the pain
Em
Girl, look for a minute, felt like I was winnin', wasn't even thinkin' 'bout your name
C
I knew the shots were a long shot Whiskey's just a temporary memory loss
D
But you're still gone, you're still gone, yeah you're still gone
G
When the buzz wears off.

(Verse)
G
I swore as the night got older, you wouldn't be hangin' over my shoulder
Em
When the buzz wears off.
D C Am
I could smile for a while, I was strong as the drinks they were pourin',
G Am
Now I'm sober enough to see the truth in the light of the mornin'.

(Chorus)
G Em
When the buzz wears off.

(Bridge)
D C Am
Thought the haze could erase all the hurt that remains, but believe me
