New York, Paris

[Verse]
E F# A
Dry cicada shells
Cm B A
move in the wind like you have bones
E F# A
walk on the road
Cm B E
wait for the cars, don't get hit
E F# A
you sit and heal my hand
Cm B A
I know you have had trouble sleeping
E F# A
Isn't that always the way
Cm B E
All my friends are the same

A B
They sing what would I do for an ear or two
E
I'm alone in suburbia
Cm
alone just like you
A
while the backdoors swinging
B
no one wants to talk
E
so when the going gets tough
Cm
I dream of New York
A B
I saw it on the tv

looks right to me

E F# A
I'm not alone
E F# A
I know I'm not alone
E F# A
I'm not alone

E F# A
Dry cicada shell
Cm B A
Why did you stay home again
E F# A
You know they're waiting for you
Cm B E
but I guess you were just waiting to

A B
what would I do for a drink or two
E Cm
something to drown out all the words I should use
A B
while my right hand swinging into the back of your head
E Cm
I knew at that moment I should have stayed home in bed
A
but when the going gets tough
B
I don't get embarrassed
E Cm
I just close my dead eyes and I'll dream of Paris
A B
I saw it on the tv looks alright to me

E F# A
I'm not alone
E F# A
I know I'm not alone
E F# A
I'm not alone

[Instrumental]
E F# A x2

G#

[Verse]
A B
The oldest of two but the youngest at heart
Cm E
You can trace my align in the black tires marks
A B
Or out on the gutter with my head caved in
Cm E
Or behind the tattered shop if you wanna hide your skin
A B
I'm not ashamed, no I'm not embarrassed
Cm A
Well some of us won't make it to New York or Paris
A B
I made my own here at home.

E F# A x2

E
A tired old boy

stuck out in space
Cm A
watching the earth turn, like a disappointed race
E
there's a boy in my bed, he keeps pointing at hell
Cm
and I know that he means it
A
and you know as well

me and you.

E Cm A
If I can't fix the world I'll fix you.
E Cm A
If I can't fix the world I'll fix you.
