Mostly its hunger and toil

Underground you could dig for a pound

And disturb the remains of a royal

Dm Em F
With the poor left to drown and the sick and the old
G Am F G
Dunno what trickles down, but it sure isn't gold

But I'm here with my heart full, like a carnival

Sat in my vagrant car park

And no I'm not Karl Marx, but it makes me laugh
Dm Em F Am
Like flowers you see growing on stony ground
Dm Em F C G F C
And it's time to be going, so farewell stony ground

Dm Em F Am
Like flowers you see growing on stony ground
