[Intro]
C G Am C G C

[Verse One]
C G Am
Six days I will be sober
C G Am
On the seventh I'll take a drink
C G Am
Sit by the window with a tin of beer
C G C
And watch them chain up the swings

[Verse Two]
C G Am
And I will think about the power of love
C G C
A most agreeable rule
C G Am
And wonder what on earth they're thinking of
C G Am
Who only disapprove

[Refrain]
C F
And every Sunday I will celebrate my life
G
I'll dance to Runrig and I'll kiss my wife
C F
Like the old song says bad news spreads like wildfire
G C
Good news travels slow

[Verse Three]
C G Am
Let them gather up their brows and their old wives tales
F G
Tweed and dashes and the spikes and flails
G C F
Let them bow down in homage to the Prince of Wales
G C
Me, I'm going to get pished

[Refrain]
C F
And every Sunday I will celebrate my life
G
I'll dance to Mac-Talla and I will kiss my wife
C F
Like the old song says bad news spreads like wildfire
G C
Good news travels slow

[Verse Four]
C G Am
Six days I will be sober
C G Am
On the seventh I'll take a drink
C G Am
Sit by the window with a tin of beer
C G C
And watch them chain up the swings
